Vape Mail Delays: What You Need to Know

February 09, 2021

The world has changed in many ways over the past year and mail delivery services are no exception. The "new normal" for vape mail delivery times has changed and it's important to know what you can realistically expect and to plan ahead so you don't run out of e-juice.

We have seen a huge rise in calls to our customer service about late vape mail deliveries. This is not limited to Kai's Virgin Vapor as mail carriers across the nation are getting slammed with packages from a surge in online shopping along with slow downs due to COVID-19. Mail carriers are reacting by extending or even eliminating delivery guarantees.

Unfortunately, many customers are not aware of these changes and are becoming frustrated when their orders take longer to arrive than they expected. We understand how frustrating late vape mail can be so we want to help our customers understand what to realistically expect and how to best plan ahead.

Current USPS and FedEx Delivery Times

The major mail carriers have been quietly eliminating delivery guarantees and extending their stated ship times. They have done it so quietly that most people don't even know this has happened!

For example, the USPS changed their delivery windows on April 17, 2020 when they published an update removing the guarantee on Priority Mail delivery. Delivery times for Priority Mail two-day and three-day service are now extended to three and four days instead. Likewise, first class package service has been extended to three to four days as well.

Similarly, FedEx has published new delivery times and has explicitly removed their delivery guarantees. "We have suspended our money-back guarantee for all FedEx Express®, FedEx Ground®, FedEx Freight® (except FedEx Freight® Priority Plus) and FedEx Office® services until further notice," FedEx wrote on their website.

Both FedEx and USPS give the coronavirus pandemic as the reason for the delays. Additionally, there has been a huge increase in online shopping as businesses have been closed and people have faced restrictions on their ability to go out and shop. This has led to country wide delays in delivery of online orders and we know Kai's Virgin Vapor customers are feeling the pain.

Please understand, we at Kai's Virgin Vapor have absolutely no control over the United States Postal Service, FedEx or UPS. Once your package leaves our facility, delivery is solely the responsibility of the carrier. We are unable to intervene in any way and we are not able to offer refunds because carriers deliver late. Any late delivery is solely the responsibility of the carrier.

It is important to be realistic about delivery times these days and to place your vape juice order well in advance to ensure you don't run out of e-juice!

Best Day and Time to Order for Fastest Delivery

Along with carrier shipping speeds, it also takes Kai's Virgin Vapor a little time to fill and ship your order. This fulfillment time is not included in carrier shipping times so please do take that into account.

In general, we will ship your order out the same day that you place it provided the order is placed before noon, Pacific Standard Time. However, that shipping time is not guaranteed and occasionally we will experience heavy order volume and it may take us a couple extra days to ship.

Because same day fulfillment is not guaranteed, if you are running out of e-juice, please give us a call! We would be happy to bump your order to the front of the line or even do an extra Post Office run at the end of the day to make sure your order gets on the way to you ASAP. Remember, we're a small company but that means we go the extra mile for our customers whenever we can!

Also, please keep in mind, we do not ship on weekends as we are closed. That means that if you place your order later in the day on Friday, it won't go out until Monday. Because of this, you'll generally get a faster overall turnaround if you place your order early in the week.

Tips to Avoid Late Vape Mail

To recap, to avoid running out of vape juice:

  • Plan for significant delays from USPS and FedEx as these services are either no longer guaranteed or have extended their delivery times by several days
  • Order before noon PST
  • Order early in the week or plan for the weekend when we are closed
  • If you're running out of vape juice, call us at (844) 303-4545 so we can rush your order!

We know it can be frustrating when vape mail seem to take forever to arrive. We hope these tips will help avoid unnecessary frustration and enable customers to plan ahead for the new normal in vape mail delivery times!
