We're taking a break this week from our usual posts about regulatory affairs, e-cig news and what makes the best vape juice to give ourselves a little pat on the back. It turns out that our humble little website was used as a reference by a medical doctor in an essay published in National Affairs Journal!
The article, entitled The E-Cigarette Revolution That Wasn't, appears in the current issue. It was written by Sally Satel, M.D. and, even if we weren't mentioned, we have to say it is well worth the read.
Doctor Satel is the author of five books, including Brainwashed, The Seductive Appeal of Mindless Neuroscience, One Nation Under Therapy, and The Health Disparities Myth. Dr. Satel has appeared on C-Span and Fox News, lectured at Yale and been published in numerous academic journals over the years.
You have to go to Dr. Satel's website to see the annotated version of the article, but if you do, you'll find under footnote number 19 our article entitled Nicotine Salts: A Vaper's Guide used as a reference. Dr. Satel took note of our research on JUUL's development of nicotine salts and the novel way they interact with the body.
Seems an M.D. thought our research was good enough to quote it in a published journal! It's a small thing but, given the amount of time we spend researching and writing articles for our website in order to bring truly valuable and in-depth information to our readers, it sure does feel good to be noticed!
Can we get a "Yay!"?
